Forestry Mulching in Northwest Florida

What forestry mulching does
A forestry mulcher is a tracked machine with a drum of carbide teeth on the front. It drives into standing brush and small trees and shreds them into a layer of chips on the ground. Nothing gets loaded, hauled or burned. The chips stay as ground cover, which holds the soil, slows the regrowth and looks finished when we leave.
It is the fastest and usually the cheapest way to open up acreage that has gotten away from you. It reaches places a dump truck cannot, and it does not leave a scar the way a dozer and a burn pile do.

What it does not do
Mulching opens land up. It does not prepare it to build on. The stumps and root systems are still in the ground under those chips, and anything organic left under a slab rots and settles. If you are putting a house, a shop or a barn on it, you need land clearing, with stumps out and roots raked, and we will tell you that up front instead of taking the smaller job and having you call back angry.
It also has a size limit. The mulcher handles brush and trees up to roughly the size of a fence post to a small pine. Bigger hardwoods get cut and either hauled or mulched in pieces, and we price that honestly when we walk the property.
Why we are the right call for it
We own the mulcher. It is not rented for your job and it is not subbed out to a guy with a skid steer attachment. The operator running it works for us, is on our insurance, and has done this on ground just like yours from Pensacola to Freeport.

What drives the price
We do not publish numbers because two five acre parcels a mile apart can differ by a factor of three. What moves it: acreage, how thick and how big the growth is, how wet the ground is, what you want kept, and how far in from the road the work is. We walk it with you, mark what stays, and give you a number. The site visit costs you nothing.
