Getting your acreage usable again
Most of the people who call us about brush are not building anything. They have five or ten or forty acres that got away from them, and they want to be able to walk it, hunt it, run a fence, or just stop looking at it. That is a smaller job than land clearing and it should be priced like one.
Bush hogging, and when it is enough
Bush hogging cuts everything down to a few inches. Grass, weeds, briars, saplings and light scrub. It is the right call when the problem is overgrowth rather than trees, when you want to maintain something you have already opened up, or when you want to see what is actually out there before deciding anything else.
It is not enough when there is real woody growth. A bush hog will not deal with anything much thicker than your wrist, and running one at material it cannot cut is how you break a machine on somebody else's property.
Forestry mulching
We own a forestry mulcher. It grinds standing brush and small trees into chips where they stand, so nothing has to be loaded, hauled or dumped. The chips stay as ground cover, which holds soil and slows the regrowth coming back.
This is usually the best value on acreage: it is faster than clearing, there is no debris to pay for, and it goes places a dump truck cannot. The honest limit is that the stumps and root systems are still in the ground under those chips. Mulching opens land up. It does not prepare it to build on. Selective clearing
Keep the good trees, take the scrub. This is slower and more deliberate than running a machine across everything, and it is worth it when you have mature oaks or a stand of pine you want to keep. Walk the property with us and mark what stays.
Access and firebreaks
Cutting a path in so equipment or a truck can reach the back of a parcel, opening a lane along a property line, or putting in a firebreak. Small jobs, and we do them.
When you actually need full clearing instead
If you are putting a house, a shop, a barn or a slab on it, you need land clearing, not brush work. That means stumps out and roots raked, because anything organic left under a pad rots and the pad settles into the hole it leaves. Mulch on top of stumps looks finished and is not.
We would rather tell you that now than take the smaller job and have you call back angry. If that is where you are headed, the land clearing page is the one you want.
Where the debris goes
This is the part most people never think about until they get a bill. Debris has to go somewhere, and for most clearing outfits that means paying a third party to take it and paying somebody else to haul it. Two vendors, two markups, and a schedule that depends on both of them.
NOBL owns a 30 acre pit at 3125 River Rd in Navarre and runs its own trucks and equipment. The debris has somewhere to go. We haul it to our own pit, on our own trucks.
